About Me
I am a PhD student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, where I am part of the Hopkins Computational Imaging Group led by Yu Sun. Previously, I had the opportunity to work with Lihong V. Wang at Caltech. Before that, I studied Astrophysics at Pomona College, where I worked with Philip Choi, an incredible mentor, and was fortunate to learn from the wonderful Phys&Astro community at Pomona. My current research focuses on computational imaging methods for scientific inverse problems, with applications in microscopy, astronomy, and medical imaging.
I grew up in Shanghai, China, and have benefited from considerable privilege throughout my education. Many people who are more talented and diligent than me have not had access to the same opportunities, and for many others, economic, gender, racial, and other structural barriers can make an academic path difficult even to imagine. I feel both proud and humbled to be where I am, and deeply grateful for the people, institutions, and resources that made this path possible.
If you are a student trying to make sense of research, grad school, or simply the possibilities and choices in life, please feel free to email me. I would be glad if anything I have learned along the way could make someone else's path a little less uncertain.
